The Risk Management Institute helped me to identify, assess and prioritize the common areas of risk that exists in my District and practices that can limit the potential exposure.  It also helped me to understand and define my role in the mitigation of risk factors and how my insurance provider could assist.

Kelly E. Seibert, Assistant Superintendent for Business and Management Services, Byram Hills Central School District

The Risk Management Institute was a valuable opportunity to understand how to mitigate risks common to schools and to protect the financial interests of the school district when those risks cannot be controlled.  It was time well-spent.  I learned a lot and, most importantly, I learned what I need to learn more about!  The presenters from NYSIR were knowledgeable, engaging and even entertaining with a subject matter that could otherwise be dry and dreary.

- Joseph C. Dragone, Assistant Superintendent for Business and Administration, Roslyn Union Free School District

Attendance at the Risk Management Institute gave me the knowledge I needed to truly manage risk for our district, not just keep up to date with insurance policies.  Now I check all our vendor contracts to ensure the proper "risk transfer" clauses are there and we are protected.  I also view our Facilities with a risk avoidance lens.  This class was definitely worth the time invested.

- Carol Stein, Assistant Superintendent for Business/Operations, Irvington Union Free School District
