ASBO Executive Director Brian Cechnicki released the follow statement in response to Governor Hochul's 2022 State of the State address:
We are pleased to see the Governor making education a central component of her 2022 State of the State. The continued commitment to fully fund Foundation Aid is a welcome sight to school districts throughout the state who have remained underfunded since the formula was first created. In addition, we are glad to see that the Governor plans to take aggressive action to ensure that teacher staff shortages within districts are addressed. We look forward to working with Governor Hochul, the New York State Senate, and the New York State Assembly to ensure that the needs of school districts and their students are met in the 2022-23 Enacted Budget.
