2026 Accounting Workshops
ASBO New York's Accounting Workshops offer a year-round, in-depth exploration of accounting and reporting requirements for school district business office personnel. Covering all fund types, monthly and annual reporting, these hands-on workshops provide practical resources for attendees in their day-to-day roles.
Presented by: Sarah Morrison, Senior State Aid Planner, Questar III BOCES Virtual Format: Each virtual installment spans a week, with sessions on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM each day. Full class credit is contingent on attending all three days of the installment.

Course Overview: This course provides attendees with an introduction to fund accounting in school districts. It will provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of what governmental accounting means and how accounting entries are recorded on a modified accrual basis of accounting. Accounting 1 will cover accounting budget assets, liabilities, revenues and expenditures for a school district during the school year and it will also cover common responsibilities of a Treasurer and provide resources for accomplishing them efficiently.
