|A New Look for ASBO New York|
We’re excited to unveil a new brand for our Association. Going forward, NYSASBO will be ASBO New York. Our new name and accompanying logo (see above) both reflect the hard work and strategic choices we’ve made as an Association. Our board and staff have been working on these changes for more than a year and we’re excited to finally share the results with you, our valued members.
In keeping with this momentum, our board recently met to craft a vision statement for the Association along with updating the supporting mission statement.
ASBO New York: An association where members are recognized as experts in school finance and operations, and leaders in education.
ASBO New York supports the professional growth of our members, serves as the leading resource on school finance, and advocates to ensure quality education for all students.
As you navigate our new website, you’ll notice that we’ve added a number of features. We look forward to helping you explore the new functionality, especially the “RFP Mailer” and our re-configured chapter pages which allow each chapter to create and edit their own content! You’ll also notice a more robust “SBO Career Pathway” area, prominently located on our homepage. In the development of our new site we learned that one of the top three reasons people visit our site (the other two are jobs and continuing education opportunities) is to learn how to become and SBO.
In the next five years, nearly a quarter of SBOs plan on retiring. The move to ASBO New York symbolizes our commitments to best serving our current members and new young professionals who will soon join their ranks. By highlighting our core mission, the ASBO New York brand emphasizes our role as experts in school finance and operations.
