Forecast5 Analytics uses a combination of Live Birth Data from the New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) and Enrollment Records from the New York State Education Department (NYSED), to produce the annual enrollment projection. Using a Cohort Survival model, this projects future students by grade for each district. This model is widely accepted, is considered very reliable, and is used by several Departments of Education in their projections, as well as the US Census Bureau for their reports.
