ASBO New York Partner Forecast5 Presents Monthly 5Sight Tip
Wednesday, May 5, 2021

The light at the end of the COVID-19 pandemic seems to be in sight, and districts are now actively reviewing their changes to enrollment, as well as staffing. Managing their budgets is critical and knowing if their district is top heavy on staff counts, or lacking the appropriate instructors is crucial to this process. Further, many districts have experienced significant changes to their enrollment, and analyzing staff as it relates to the students returning to in-person learning is also important. The FTE Change vs. Enrollment Change by School visual provides administration a quick view of their individual buildings, the students assigned to them, and what the teacher, administration, and support staff looks like in those buildings. It also allows a comparison to their peer districts to help guide them toward the appropriate decisions.
What questions will this help answer?
- Have we provided enough staff – both instructional and non-instructional – to our student body?
- Do we have the necessary budget to support the necessary changes that must be made as students return to school?
- Are we confident in our staff counts, and prepared for what the 2021-2022 school year may hold should the country experience another wave of the pandemic?
