New York State school districts have been faced with staff shortages in many aspects of their day-to-day practices. As administrators determine where their individual district sits, and how they may compare to their peer districts, leaders are looking to formulate plans for subsequent academic years.
Utilizing the New York State Education Department’s Salary & Enrollment Records, this visual highlights the FTE Count of a district, or series of districts, and the ratio of students to staff.
Questions This Can Help Answer:
Are our staffing ratios in line with what we assumed they were?
Do our peer districts show a similar ratio or is our district an outlier?
Do our ratios support current student need, or do we need to add staff?
