Analyzing metrics like cost per student is an important exercise school districts should undertake. Improving student outcomes, effective resource allocation and budget planning, and program effectiveness are a few reasons to make this a top priority.
To make that analysis easier, we recently released our NEW Community Presentation – Cost Per Student in Financial Planning Analytics. This slide deck was created with community members in mind, who many times, do not know the ins and outs of school finance. This information can help to answer questions like: - What is causing our cost per student to fluctuate? Enrollment? Changes in spending? Both?
- Is district spending out pacing or aligned with changes in the economy?
- Are we seeing/anticipating any changes in how the district is funded and the impact enrollment could have on future funding?
