ESSA School Financial Transparency Reporting

Complying with Federal and State School Level Financial Reporting

The submission portal for reporting for 2018-19 actual spending required by ESSA Financial Transparency is now open. The submission deadline is March 1, 2020. Data submission will be done through the NYS Business Application Portal.

At the 2019 Education Summit & Expo, ASBO New York's Director of Education and Research, Deborah Cunningham, delivered a presentation on school level financial reporting. The presentation touches on state requirements and dives deeply into complying with federal requirements for school level financial reporting.

New York State School Funding Transparency Reporting

In 2018, 76 school districts completed the required school level budget transparency submission. For 2019, 306 districts were required to submit school level budgets.

This year, all school districts will need to submit their budgets.
