ASBO NY PARTNER FRONTLINE (FORECAST5) PRESENTS MONTHLY DATA & ANALYTICS TIP
As we enter negotiations prep, itâs good to get our proverbial ducks in a row early, and to communicate â with data â often. If in years past you havenât leveraged data too much in the negotiating process, we would encourage you to start those discussions now, so that when the official talks begin, no âside of the tableâ is thrown off guard by what the data shows. There are many elements that we could look at, but often less can be more. Find a view that: (1) communicates your position well, and (2) you feel comfortable speaking to. One such visual could be District Position Control Analysis, which can be found in our Salary or Staffing category within Comparative Analytics. Youâll notice there are three columns of data. Moving from left to right: the first column shows you Teacher FTE across every district in the group; the middle column shows you each districtâs Student to Teacher FTE ratio, and the last column shows you Average Teacher Salary. Youâll also notice each column has a thin vertical line running throughout the graphic; that line indicates the group average for that particular measure. This average line can be helpful as it quickly enables you to see your districtâs position relative to the group average, while still being able to compare yourself individually to other districts in the analytic. Please note that when you are inside the analytic, you will have the choice to select different peer groups, different staff positions, multiple years, etc. This really is an incredibly powerful resource as it affords you the opportunity, in just a couple of seconds, to answer important questions like: ï· How does our teacher salary and student-to-teacher ratio compare to various district groups? ï· What does our Teacher/Staff experience look like relative to neighbors and peers? ï· How does our minimum/maximum salaries compare to neighbors and peers? ï· How do our benefits costs compare to neighbors and peers? Frontline (Forecast5) Resource: Comparative Analytics (5Sight) For more information, please contact Brett Williams, bwilliams@frontlineed.com, 315.978.6010
